Professional profile

I have extensive experience in general orthopaedics and trauma, having worked in this field since 1990. After completion of my higher surgical training on the South Trent rotation based in Leicester, I obtained a consultant post in 2006 at Good Hope Hospital NHS Trust, Sutton Coldfield.

I aim to provide a high-quality, comprehensive orthopaedic service. My special interests include lower limb surgery mainly joint replacements and arthroscopic surgeries and I have been performing minimally invasive total hip replacements in large numbers, with highly successful results and immense patient satisfaction. I also perform large numbers of total knee replacement and treats sports injuries including arthroscopic ACL reconstruction with hamstring tendons. Further to this I also do foot and ankle surgery including total ankle replacement and ankle arthroscopy.

Personal Profile

I am a keen cricket enthusiast having played cricket at university level in my younger days. I enjoy reading history and nature books, attending to my garden and travelling. In my spare time I do play golf and am working hard to get my handicap down.

I also am actively involved in teaching medical and postgraduate students and have acted as an examiner for medical students. I regularly contribute to postgraduate training and research and have presented several papers at national and international conferences. I also have successfully written several chapters in orthopaedic books and have been invited to give lecturers on various orthopaedic topics which I have duly attended.
