I am a Consultant Hand, Wrist and Upper Limb Surgeon specialising in nerve conditions, sports injuries, and arthritis affecting the hand, wrist, and elbow. As a dedicated upper limb specialist, I provide personalised care using advanced techniques such as keyhole nerve release surgery and total joint replacement for hand arthritis, ensuring patients regain strength and mobility with minimal downtime.
I offer comprehensive treatments for both common and complex upper limb conditions, including endoscopic (keyhole) carpal tunnel release - a procedure I perform more frequently than any other surgeon in the UK. This minimally invasive approach reduces scar pain and allows patients to return to daily activities faster compared to traditional open surgery.
My practice also focuses on wrist arthroscopy for ligament injuries, ganglion cyst removal, advanced Dupuytren's contracture correction, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy for conditions like tennis elbow and golfer's elbow.
For patients with severe thumb arthritis, I specialise in high-volume total joint replacement surgery, a modern technique that restores natural hand function and alleviates pain. Additionally, I pioneer forearm deformity correction using cutting-edge 3D printing technology to design custom implants tailored to each patient's unique anatomy.
From keyhole surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome to bespoke 3D-printed implants, I combine precision, expertise, and a patient-centred approach to deliver exceptional outcomes. Whether you're recovering from a sports injury or managing chronic arthritis, I provide tailored solutions to restore your quality of life.
I graduated in medicine from the University of Cambridge and trained in orthopaedic surgery at leading UK specialist centres. In 2018, I received the British Orthopaedic Association Overseas Fellowship, honing my skills in wrist arthroscopy and complex hand injury surgery at top clinics in Asia. Since 2019, I have been a Consultant in Orthopaedics and Trauma at University Hospitals Birmingham, treating both elective and trauma-related upper limb conditions.
I am actively involved in clinical research and lead a Ministry of Defence-funded multi-centre study on fracture fixation. With over 40 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, I regularly present at international conferences and serve as a trusted voice in upper limb surgery. My commitment to innovation ensures patients benefit from the latest evidence-based techniques.

I firmly believe a healthy work-life balance improves an individual's wellbeing. I am a table tennis player, rock climber and enjoy playing the cello and guitar. These activities have also enabled me to gain a deeper understanding of the technical demands of keen sporting enthusiasts and musicians.
I also speak Chinese Mandarin.
