"I enjoy working at Spire because it allows me to provide a detailed and individualised service for my patients in a modern, friendly and calming environment."
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in degenerative and sports disorders of the hand, wrist and elbow. As a purely hand and wrist specialist, I am able to offer a complete and individualised service utilising the latest techniques including arthroscopic surgery (keyhole) and wide-awake surgery for Dupuytren’s surgery, tendon reconstruction, nerve surgery and arthritis treatment.
I was appointed as a consultant in orthopaedics and trauma at University Hospitals Birmingham in 2019, and treat patients with both elective and traumatic orthopaedic conditions.
I graduated in medicine from Cambridge University in 2006 and have pursued my orthopaedic and specialist training in multiple distinguished specialist centres in the West Midlands and the UK. In 2018, I was awarded the prestigious British Orthopaedic Association overseas fellowship to attain further specialist skills in wrist arthroscopy and hand injury surgery in centres of excellence in Asia.
I am actively involved in clinical research and regularly publish scientific articles on the management of degenerative and sports injuries of the arm. I have been invited to present at a number of international conferences and teach regularly on specialist orthopaedic courses.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Feiran Wu at Spire include:

I firmly believe a healthy work-life balance improves an individual's wellbeing. I am a table tennis player, rock climber and enjoy playing the cello and guitar. These activities have also enabled me to gain a deeper understanding of the technical demands of keen sporting enthusiasts and musicians.
I also speak Chinese Mandarin.
