I have been a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon for over two years and specialised in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery training for three years prior to this. I was a National Oncoplastic Fellow for one year at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) prior to becoming a Consultant. I am the Breast Cancer Lead at UHB, and also the Breast MDT lead. I am actively engaged in local and national trials and I am the Principal Investigator in breast research projects collaborating with the University of Birmingham. I was awarded a PhD in Breast Cancer Research from King's College London, and have several publications as well as national and international presentations.
I specialise in the management of breast cancer and benign breast conditions. I have a specific interest in oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery, as well as managing breast sarcomas. I have specialist training and experience in delivering electrochemotherapy.
I have a keen interest in Medical Education. I am an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham (UoB) and have an active involvement in Undergraduate and Postgraduate medical education. In addition to this, I have a pastoral role as a Personal Academic Tutor for UoB 3rd, 4th and 5th-year medical students.
