I have been a Consultant Gastroenterologist for over five years. I specialise in all aspects of gastroenterology and liver diseases including irritable bowel syndrome, functional gut disorder, acid reflux, coeliac disease, liver dysfunction including fatty liver, inflammatory bowel diseases and pancreatobiliary disorders. I am very approachable and listen to my patients concerns and work very hard to help them in managing their health conditions.
My special interests within the specialty are management of of all aspects of liver diseases as well as advanced endoscopy. I have significant experience in management of complex pancreatic diseases including acute and chronic pancreatitis as well as problems with bile duct related to stones or strictures.
I am a skilled endoscopist and JAG certified endoscopy trainer. I undertake complex endoscopies at my NHS practice.
I have an expertise in the full range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. I regularly perform gastroscopy, colonoscopy and polypectomy, endoluminal stenting, endoscopic ultrasound and ERCP. I have performed more than 5,000 endoscopic procedures to date in my NHS practice.
I did my post graduate gastroenterology training from the West Midlands, including one year at Birmingham Liver Unit. After finishing my post graduate training, I did one year of an advanced endoscopy fellowship at University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire.
I was awarded a prestigious travelling fellowship by the British Society of Gastroenterology for the year 2018 where I learnt new endoscopic techniques from the world’s leading endoscopist at Hamburg, Germany.
I was also awarded a fellowship by the World Endoscopy Organisation School of EUS (WISE) for the year 2021 and successfully completed a training programme for endoscopic ultrasound. I was awarded fellowship by the Royal College of Physicians of London in 2020.
I am the Upper GI/HPB Cancer Lead at my NHS hospital. I have an excellent relationship with other colleagues including surgeons, radiologists and other healthcare professionals to achieve the best outcome for my patients with complex health needs. I enjoy teaching and supervise post graduate trainees in gastroenterology at my NHS hospital.
I take an active part in research and have published in international journals.
