I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Leicester General Hospital and an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Leicester.
I see patients with all manner of urological problems including andrology, the treatment of urethral strictures, testicular pain, erectile dysfunction, male infertility, prostate cancer, urodynamics, vasectomy reversal, benign prostate disease and urological cancers. Leicester is currently one of the largest penile cancer supraregional centres in the UK.
I graduated from Leicester Medical School in 1987 and undertook my general surgical and urological training in Plymouth, Southampton and Portsmouth. I obtained Reconstructive Fellowships in the USA and at the Institute of Urology in London, with a further Fellowship in advanced andrological surgery, including prosthetics and female to male gender realignment also at the Institute of Urology. Appointed as a Consultant in 2001 in Portsmouth, I moved to Leicester in 2005 on leaving the Royal Navy after 19 years of service.
I am President of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) and I also Chair the East Midlands Regional Training Committee and the East Midlands Penile cancer Supra-network (6.5 million population). I chaired the European Association of Urology (EAU) Guidelines Panel in Urological Trauma until 2015 and Examine at the Medical School and Nationally for FRCS (Urol).
