I work with patients who have had weight loss (bariatric) surgery at Spire Leicester Hospital. I visit people in hospital after surgery and provide outpatient appointments and telephone or email contacts as required. I also supply detailed written dietary information.
My aim is to help patients lose weight and keep the weight off long term, by encouraging them to follow a healthy diet and to develop practical skills for long-term weight management.
I studied Dietetics at Leeds Beckett University and have 31 years experience as a Registered Dietitian. I have specialised in mental health for 20 years and in severe obesity and bariatric surgery for 15 years.
I was awarded an MSc with Distinction in Weight Management in 2010 and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Understanding and Changing Behaviour in 2012. I work exclusively with people with severe and complex obesity who are considering or who have had bariatric surgery.
COVID-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service at Spire Leicester Hospital.
Primary Care Bariatric Dietitian (part time) Leicestershire Partnership Trust. Senior Specialist Dietitian Bariatric Surgery (part time) University Hospitals of Leicester.
I am married with 2 children. The family are all musical and I have played the clarinet for 45 years. In recent years I have also taken up playing the saxophone. I am currently enjoying a return to clarinet lessons to improve my playing skills and play regularly in small and large music ensembles in Leicester.
