I run a busy tertiary referral service for vitreo-retinal surgical patients (eg retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, macular hole, surgical treatment for vitreous floaters) at the Leicester Royal Infirmary Hospital and at the Spire Leicester Hospital.
I also specialise in Artisan Implant surgery for correction of very shortsighted and very longsighted patients and run national courses for consultants in this field.
I also perform premium lens implant surgery, including Toric Intraocular lens implant surgery to correct astigmatism, multifocal lens implant surgery for correction of presbyopia, Artisan Phakic lens implant surgery for correction of high myopia and high hypermetropia and 23 gauge suture-less Vitreoretinal surgery, 23 gauge suture-less macular hole surgery and 23 gauge retinal detachment surgery. Diabetic retinopathy and diabetic Vitrectomy.
I have been visiting Professor C Eckardt - an eminent vitreo-retinal surgeon in Frankfurt, Germany - for the last 12 years and have brought his unique surgical techniques to Leicester. Recently I have also been visiting Professor Grazia Pertille in Verona and am hoping to commence choroidal graft surgery for the treatment of some types of wet macular degeneration soon.
