Professional profile

I am a consultant breast, oncoplastic and aesthetic breast surgeon.

This is a highly specialised area and as such I have extensive experience as a specialist both in cosmetic breast surgery at Spire Leeds Hospital and as a reconstructive breast surgeon at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust where I have held a substantive post for over eight years.

I qualified at the University of Leeds medical school in 1992 having trained in the major centres in Yorkshire and visited leading centres in the USA as part of a travelling fellowship.

I have honours, distinctions and commendations from my undergraduate and post graduate exams. I have developed interests in all aspects of breast surgery and disease, both cosmetic, benign and malignant.

I offer a truly comprehensive breast service and have a national reputation. I have a very large clinical practice but always maintain a patient focused, professional and empathic approach.

I am an expert in breast augmentation and breast reduction and have performed over a thousand of these operations, never having to remove an implant due to rupture or infection in any of my patients. Breast augmentation and breast reduction surgery are my main areas of expertise and practice at Spire Hospital Leeds.

My expertise in oncoplastic breast surgery also includes breast reconstructions with tissue flaps, lipomodelling and implants, breast reductions, breast mastopexy, symmetrisation and breast augmentations.

Personal Profile

My wife is a GP full-partner in Tadcaster. I have four children who keep me busy but still allow me to pursue hobbies. I used to run, scuba dive and even parachute jump but after successive knee injuries I became a keen cyclist and I'm now a member of the Yorkshire Road Club. Last year I cycled from Lands End to John O’Groats for charity. The previous year I completed the three peaks 24-hour challenge (Snowdon, Scarfell Pike, Ben Nevis!)
