I trained at Bristol Eye Hospital, and at the Vancouver Eye Care Centre, British Columbia Canada. My sub-specialist areas of interest are cataract surgery, and medical and surgical management of glaucoma.
I perform over 500 surgical/laser procedures each year. The specialist surgical procedures for glaucoma that I offer include trabeculectomy (with anti-scarring agents known as antimetabolites, if required), combined cataract and glaucoma filtration surgery (phaco-trabeculectomy), drainage tube implantation, laser trabeculoplasty, laser iridotomy, and cyclodiode laser ciliary body ablation.
I am also the author of two ophthalmology texts, 'Common eye diseases and their management' (third edition) and 'MCQ companion to the eye: basic sciences in practice'.
I can be contacted by my private secretary Janet Bagshaw on 01937 541572 Monday to Friday, or Spire Leeds Hospital's outpatients on 0113 2185908/09.

I am based at St James University Hospital, Leeds where I am one of the glaucoma specialists. My practice there is divided between managing glaucoma and cataracts. I see private patients at Spire Leeds Hospital on Wednesdays between 9.30am and 11.00am and Fridays between 3.00pm and 6.00pm.
I enjoy outdoor pursuits including golf and skiing, but spend most of my free time relaxing at home with my wife and two children.
