Specialises in
I am a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Spire Leeds Hospital and Leeds Teaching Hospitals, and my cosmetic surgery practice is based in Leeds and York. I am a fully accredited, UK trained consultant plastic surgeon and on the GMC Specialist Register for plastic surgery. I graduated from Sheffield Medical School with first class honours in medical science, and undertook my basic surgical training in Yorkshire, followed by specialist training in plastic and reconstructive surgery in Edinburgh and Dundee. I returned to Leeds to undertake an advanced training fellowship in sarcoma surgery and lower limb reconstruction and was appointed as a consultant in 2020.
In 2018 I was awarded a highly prestigious Advanced Training Fellowship in cosmetic surgery, which is the highest recognised training programme in cosmetic surgery. This allowed me to train with world leading cosmetic surgeons using cutting edge techniques. I use this training to deliver bespoke treatment plans for my patients at Spire Leeds. I have developed a particular interest in facial plastic surgery and regularly visit other surgeons in the UK, Europe and USA to ensure my practice is at the leading edge of cosmetic surgery. Through this I am one of few surgeons able to offer extended deep plane face and neck lifts, widely regarded as the gold standard in modern facelift techniques.
During my training I was awarded a PhD from the University of Edinburgh for my research on stem cells and tissue engineering, with a particular focus on stem cells in fat tissue, and the regenerative potential of fat grafting. Based on my research, I routinely use fat grafting and fat transfer as part of my approach to total facial rejuvenation to restore youthful volume during facial plastic surgery and facelifts.
Throughout my career I have been involved in research. I have written multiple book chapters, published widely in the scientific and surgical literature and presented my work globally. I am involved in the training of junior plastic surgeons in Leeds, and I coordinate the successful Advanced Fellowship Training Programme.
I am a full member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon (BAPRAS), the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
