I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist. I was appointed as a consultant in Leeds in 1992. I have a particular interest in anterior segment surgery including cataract and corneal surgery with premium, monofocal lenses and multifocal lenses.

My special interests also include corneal surgery and treatment for keratoconus with keraring and cross linking. In addition I specialise in laser phototherapeutic keratectomy for recurrent corneal erosion syndrome. Since 1993 I have specialised in refractive surgery including excimer laser correction of refractive error with LASIK, LASEK and wavefront guided treatments.

I qualified from Birmingham University Medical School and the majority of my ophthalmology training was undertaken at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Hospital. I undertook a fellowship in corneal surgery and external eye disease at St Thomas' Hospital, London before being appointed as consultant ophthalmologist at St James's University Hospital, Leeds.

I am involved in the teaching of medical students and surgical trainees and was appointed Regional Director of Training for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 1997.
