Professional profile

Prior to my consultant appointment at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, I had extensive training in paediatric endocrinology at Glasgow, Edinburgh and Sheffield Children's Hospitals. My NHS department consists of two consultants and two specialist nurses and provides a comprehensive tertiary service at Leeds Children's Hospital with outreach clinics across West, East and parts of North Yorkshire. My clinical work spans all disorders of the endocrine glands with common referrals including the assessment of children with short stature or early or late puberty. I aim to provide a framework to manage each child to the highest current standards, but also look to improve the system within which children are managed.

I am actively involved in clinical research and have 11 publications, and 35 abstracts. I am regularly invited to lecture at local and national meetings and I am involved in setting up and delivery of a number of teaching programs. I also contributed to education in the wider community including presentations to families at specific parent / child group forums.

Clinical Interests

Personal Profile

I have always enjoyed playing football and still manage to play regularly. I often commute to work by bicycle and the little time that I have left is taken up with gardening or ferrying my three children to various school and sporting activities.
