Dr Raj S Chaggar
MBBS, BSc, MRCGP
I am a Yorkshire born and raised GP who, after finishing medical school at Imperial College London, returned home to greener pastures. I have undertaken numerous postgraduate jobs including paediatrics, psychiatry, gynaecology and care of the elderly in local teaching hospitals before completing my general practice training.
I have spent nearly 10 years working throughout Leeds in general practice.
Through my work in the accident and emergency department, I have kept up to date with the latest research and guidance when managing patients with acute problems. I have complemented this work by continuing my general practice work which allows me to offer guidance, opinion and management options to those with more longstanding concerns.
The 30 minute time slots for each consultation at Spire Leeds will allow in-depth discussion into the concerns of each patient and give me the ability to provide bespoke treatment plans tailored to the individual. I feel the accessibility to prompt investigations and specialist input at Spire Leeds will allow me to provide the best patient care available.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Raj S Chaggar at Spire include:
BSc / Imperial College, London / 2006
Bachelor of Science
MBBS / Imperial College, London / 2008
Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Science
MRCGP / Royal College of General Practitioners / 2013
Member of the Royal College of Practitioners
General Practitioner, Accident and Emergency Department, St James' University Hospital
Outside of my working life my passion lies in sport; I play cricket and badminton in local leagues. My medical training has allowed me to offer health screening with local charities which I find rewarding. I am slowly working through an ambition to visit 100 countries around the world with my wife and daughter!
