I am a consultant at Spire Leeds Hospital with specialist registration in gastroenterology and hepatology. I specialise within all areas of bowel and liver disease. I am one of the few physicians in the UK with a major interest in pancreaticobiliary disease and perform advanced level endoscopy including EUS (endoscopic ultrasound) and ERCP (endoscopic retrograde xholangiopancreatography) as well as general endoscopy and colonoscopy.
My training involved experience at major centres in London including the Royal Free Hospital, King’s Liver Unit and St Mary’s Hospital; followed by a fellowship in advanced endoscopy at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. My ongoing research interests include gastrointestinal cancer, chronic pancreatitis, autoimmune pancreatitis and sphincter of oddi dysfunction. I was awarded a PhD from University College London in 2014 following my work into DNA replication in pancreatic cancer.
I sit on the British Society of Gastroenterology pancreatic section committee and I’m involved in training doctors in advanced endoscopy. I was appointed as a consultant gastroenterologist in Leeds in 2014.
I specialise in general gastroenterology with specific interests in abdominal pain, bowel disorders, liver, biliary and gallbladder disease, pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer and the investigation of abdominal pain including spinchter of oddi dysfunction.
I regularly perform gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound, ERCP and other forms of advanced interventional endoscopy including luminal stenting.
I offer treatment and services for the following; abdominal pain, abnormal LFTs, coeliac disease, diarrhoea, hepatitis, iron, vitamin and mineral level tests, irritable bowel syndrome, liver disease (hepatology), pancreatic disease and reflux.
