BSc MBBS MRCP(med) MRCP(Derm)
I am a Consultant Dermatologist with over 10 years of experience in dermatology and a specialist interest in skin cancer, mole assessment, melanoma, acne and complex skin conditions. As part of my NHS role within a regional specialist skin cancer service, I regularly assess and manage patients with concerning skin lesions, atypical moles and melanoma. I understand that skin conditions can have a significant impact on confidence, wellbeing and quality of life, and I am committed to providing thorough assessments, clear explanations and personalised treatment plans. In addition to my medical degree, I hold a degree in Psychology, which has helped shape my holistic and patient-centred approach to care.
I diagnose and treat a wide range of skin conditions in both adults and children, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, skin infections, rashes, hair loss, scalp disorders, nail conditions and skin cancer. I have a particular interest in mole checks, skin lesion assessment, melanoma and melanocytic lesions, including the diagnosis and management of atypical moles and melanocytomas. I regularly see patients who are concerned about new or changing moles, have a personal or family history of skin cancer, or would like a comprehensive skin cancer assessment. I am also passionate about acne management and am a member of the Acne Clinical and Research Network (ACORN), supporting evidence-based care. In addition, I perform diagnostic skin biopsies and minor surgical procedures and provide ongoing monitoring for patients with skin cancer or those at increased risk of developing it.
A significant proportion of my clinical work focuses on skin cancer, pigmented lesions and melanoma, including specialist mole and melanoma clinics for patients with complex or high-risk lesions. Alongside my clinical practice, I remain actively involved in dermatology research and have authored and co-authored a number of peer-reviewed publications in areas including acne and skin cancer. I also contribute to melanoma research and clinical trials aimed at improving the diagnosis, treatment and long-term management of skin cancer. My work has been presented at national and international scientific meetings, and I have been invited to speak at educational events for healthcare professionals across the UK.
Alongside my private practice, I am a Consultant Dermatologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where I contribute to the regional specialist skin cancer service. I also serve as Training Programme Director for Dermatology in Leeds, supporting the education and development of future consultant dermatologists through teaching, mentoring and training initiatives across the region. I am actively involved in undergraduate medical education and regularly teach medical students and junior doctors.
I am also a member of a national dermatology audit subcommittee, contributing to quality improvement projects and helping to support best practice within the specialty. Through my clinical, academic and educational roles, I remain committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care informed by the latest developments in dermatology.
