Specialises in
I am a Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Oncologist at Cambridge University Hospital and provide specialist care at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital. I am a sub-specialist in the management of gynaecological cancers and a fully accredited robotic-assisted gynaecological surgeon in Cambridge, experienced in performing complex procedures using the da Vinci robotic surgery system. I am an accredited robotic surgeon with the Society of European Robotic Gynaecologists and an accredited trainer in robotic surgery, ensuring the highest standards of surgical expertise and education.
I specialise in general gynaecology which includes the management of common gynaecological problems - heavy menstrual bleeding, menstrual disorders, endometriosis, pelvic pain, fibroids and vulval skin lesions. In addition, I am one of the few sub-specialists in the Cambridge area dedicated to the treatment of gynaecological cancers including ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vulval and vaginal cancers. My particular interests include the early diagnosis of cervical cancer (the focus of my PhD research) and the use of cytoreductive surgery for ovarian cancer.
At Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, I offer advanced surgical options, including minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures using the da Vinci surgical system. This cutting-edge technology allows for greater precision, shorter recovery times, and minimal scarring, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. I also run a high-volume NHS practice performing major cancer surgeries weekly and am part of a leading colposcopy service. Alongside clinical work, I am actively involved in research to develop more sensitive tests for the early detection of HPV-mediated cancers.
