Spire Hartswood Hospital celebrates as colleague receives inspirational award

Spire Hartswood Hospital was proud to host an award ceremony to congratulate and celebrate speciality radiographer, Hilda Garaygay. Colleagues from across the hospital came together to celebrate Hilda as she was awarded an Inclusive Recognition of Inspirational Staff (IRIS) Award by Bernadette Bishop, Spire Healthcare’s National Clinical Director.

The IRIS Awards recognise the hard work and pivotal role of clinical colleagues in providing excellent care to patients. Any Spire Healthcare patient or colleague can nominate someone for an award and receiving this is a testament to the compassionate and outstanding care Hilda provides for her patients. 

Bernadette Bishop, National Clinical Director for Spire Healthcare, said: “I am delighted to present the IRIS award to Hilda to recognise her dedication and skill and to celebrate her hard work, care & compassion. This award is a testament to the difference she makes every day to her patients & her colleagues. Congratulations Hilda thank you for your outstanding contribution.” 

Robyn Ormes, Director of Clinical Services at Spire Hartswood Hospital, said: “I am delighted for Hilda Garaygay to receive an IRIS award on International Allied Heath Professionals Day. Hilda was an international recruit 4 years ago as a radiographer, she has since taken to learn the different disciplines of imaging including MRI during her own time to become competent in MRI scanning. She has such a positive work ethic and attitude and always puts her patients first. She has made a positive difference to patients she encounters and often receives positive feedback by name. Hilda has now worked her way to become a speciality radiographer and we are so lucky to have her in our team. Congratulations Hilda.”
