I am a Consultant in Pain Management at Spire Hartswood and Spire Wellesley Hospitals in Essex, offering private pain treatment.

I have been a Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthetics at Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust since March 2005. I also hold the post of Regional Advisor to the North Thames Region of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists.

I place high importance on a full assessment and examination during the first consultation and appropriate investigations in order to make a clinical diagnosis. I value the importance of listening and spending time with patients to allay fears and concerns about their problem.

In my private consultant practice at Spire Hartswood Hospital, I provide a range of interventional pain treatments including: lumbar facet joint injections and radiofrequency denervation/thermoablation, sacroiliac joint injections and joint denervation, epidural steroid injections, dorsal root ganglion block, peripheral nerve block, intravenous guanethidine block, stellate ganglion block, lumbar sympathectomy, trigger point injections.

I trained in London, Sri Lanka and Ukraine, and graduated from the Vinnitsa Medical Academy in Ukraine in 1990 and then spent time working in The University Hospital in Colombo and obtained an MD in Anaesthesia in 1998. I came to the UK in 1999 and completed my specialist training at Barts and The London Hospitals, obtaining the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in 2005. I have also completed a Fellowship in Pain Medicine.

I sit on various international advisory boards for pain medicine and have been a guest speaker at many international scientific meetings. In addition, I have given press interviews as part of local and international awareness campaigns on chronic low back pain.
