Dr Ferdinand Carabott
I am a Consultant Dermatologist at Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood and Spire Wellesley Hospital in Southend specialising in the treatment of pigmented lesions, phototherapy and skin cancer in adults and children.
I started my medical training in Malta but political trouble forced me to finish my training at Guy's Hospital in London. Subsequent posts in London were in general medicine, leading MRCP and, in 2000, I became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. I trained in dermatology at St John's Hospital for Diseases of the Skin in London, gaining wide experience in photobiology and phototherapy. I previously have held a post as a Consultant for Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust since 1995.

I run a parallel life as a photographer specialising in architectural photography and fine art. I have conducted seminars on photographic and computer imaging techniques, and hold a patent for a colour software program. My pet subject is the interaction of sound and still images. I play the treble recorder and tennis all year round.
