Seven reasons why you should use our private GP service

14 October 2019

As we celebrate the second anniversary of our private GP service, here are seven good reasons to book an appointment with us:

  1. Our GPs - Dr Jatindar Thompson and Dr Radhika Vohra - have 45 years of GP experience between them, working in London and the Surrey area. And they also still work within the NHS.

  2. You can call up for an appointment and be seen on the same day. The clinics are open to book online up to four hours before an appointment (the average waiting time for an NHS GP appointment is now 15 days according to a survey carried out by Pulse Magazine).

  3. Your appointment will last for 30 minutes. The average NHS appointment time is 9.22 minutes (source: the BMJ).

  4. Our GPs offer top to toe compassionate care from mental health issues, men and women’s health, elderly and paediatric care. We also have an onsite paediatric nurse who can offer skilled help if your child needs further investigations such as blood tests during the appointment.

  5. You can have tests on the same day as your appointment. Further tests, such as blood, urine, an ECG and X-rays, can be done the same day. Depending on the urgency the results may be discussed with you that day. For instance, if you have a chest infection, our GPs can look at the X-ray and tailor individual care.

  6. In their 45 years’ experience, our GPs have built up a local network of NHS consultants. They regularly liaise with NHS consultants and act as an advocate for the patient.

  7. You don’t have to stay within the private sector once you have your diagnosis. After your appointment, you will receive a full GP letter to take back to your regular GP which will set out the proposed care plan.
