Specialises in
I completed my undergraduate training at St Thomas's Hospital, London after which I qualified as a General Practitioner in 1991. I have worked most of the years since then as a Partner in a large NHS GP practice in Crawley. Subsequent to completing my training as a GP, I worked for a couple of years as a Hospital Physician in UK, a couple of years as Physician in a rural hospital in Zambia and as a GP in one other practice in mid Sussex for a year.
Over my career I have been keen to provide personalised, holistic care for my patients, as well as encouraging our staff to develop to their full potential - to enable our team to provide the best possible care. Amongst many approaches, this involved maximising educational opportunities eg expanding the role of the Practice Nurse, and developing new systems of working eg recruiting Physician Associates/Assistants to join our team etc.
Our NHS practice expanded rapidly over the course of many years. We moved into two new premises, as well as taking a lead in running the 'Walk-in Centre' on behalf of all Crawley patients. We pioneered many new services including the establishment of a holistic 'Listening and Guidance' service. In 2016 we won the Nursing Times 2016 National Annual Award for 'Nursing in Mental Health'.
In 1988 I undertook a full-time course in Infectious Disease and Public Health, and subsequently completed the associated Diploma. I had the privilege of working in a rural Hospital in Zambia for a couple of years. I also worked part-time for 20 years with Immigrants to UK some of whom presented with unusual infectious diseases.

In October 2021 I had a significant mountain bike accident. This caused me to take stock, with an aim to give more time and personalised care to my patients as a part-time Private General Practitioner.
I am married with six children and four grandchildren. I enjoy spending my time with my family, swimming, singing and classical music, ornithology and conservation. I am involved in a local church.
