Professional profile

Dr Clayton qualified from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School which is now known as Imperial College School of Medicine in London. She also obtained a Clinical Sciences BSc(Hons) from Imperial College before graduating in 1999.

She entered into dermatology with her first post as a Senior House Officer at Amersham Hospital and then went on to undertake her Registrar training in and around Oxford where she developed a particular interest in skin cancer and dermatological surgery. Her interest in paediatric dermatology came from time spent at the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Dr Clayton has presented both nationally and internationally in the past and has published widely as well as having contributed to several dermatology books.

She was appointed as a Consultant Dermatologist in Reading in 2008, but recently has moved and practises at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford and continues to be a member of the skin cancer multidisciplinary team.

She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists and British Society for Dermatological Surgeons.
