Derek John Head from Henbury, Bristol, came in for a hip replacement procedure performed by consultant orthopaedic surgeon, Professor Ashley Blom at Spire Bristol Hospital in February 2013.

I was fortunate enough to have a left hip replacement at your hospital on 7th February, carried out by Professor Blom.
I would like you to know that the operation has been very successful and I am able to walk about quite freely, drive, have a bath and look after myself perfectly well etc., after only four and a half weeks. I was very impressed with the whole experience. Everyone from Professor Blom to the nursing staff, caterers and cleaners on level 3, to the physios and all the admin staff involved have been efficient and most friendly and helpful throughout. I would like you to make them all aware of that. I am very grateful.
It is good to know that some parts of our health service are functionally very well in view of the amount of bad experiences which have come to light recently.
