BSc MBBS FRCS PGCert
Having completed higher specialist training in general surgery and renal transplantation in London, I have spent the past eight years operating as a Consultant Surgeon in Bristol. I specialise in hernia repair surgery, renal transplantation for adults and children, and dialysis access surgery. I offer care across a wide range of hernia types and surgical techniques, and support patients who have more complex medical needs. Whilst ensuring I am up to date with the latest international guidelines, my goal is always to help individual people feel better, regain confidence in their health, and get back to living life fully.
I specialise in many types of abdominal hernia including inguinal, femoral, umbilical, para-umbilical, epigastric, spigelian, ventral and incisional. More recently, I have expanded my practice in incisional hernias and received specialist training in complex abdominal wall reconstruction.
I also specialise in renal transplantation in adults and children, arteriovenous fistula creation and maintenance, insertion of peritoneal dialysis catheters and polycystic nephrectomy.
I have performed hundreds of hernia repairs of the types mentioned. I have also performed over 200 renal transplants, including 25 in children, over 50 laparoscopic donor nephrectomies and over 1,000 renal vascular and dialysis access procedures, demonstrating a high level of experience, precision and accuracy in complex procedures.
Serving as Clinical Lead for Transplantation in Bristol since 2021, I have greatly expanded a regional transplantation service that cares for both adults and children across the South West and South Wales. I have a proven track record of improving quality in all aspects of my practice and have undergone formal training in the South West region to support this. As deputy chair of the South West regional collaborative for transplantation, I participate in regular meetings and have assisted in mutual aid agreements to cover gaps in service.
I hold an Honorary Senior Lectureship at North Bristol Academy, giving weekly tutorials to medical students. I also assist with their clinical assessments and examinations.

Outside work I enjoy time with my wife and three young children. I share my passion for music by giving piano lessons to local people, and have taken two students successfully through ABRSM examinations recently. I also enjoy the challenge of being Chair of Governors at my local primary school.
