Anyone who takes part in sport, whether it is competitive or for fun, understands the frustration of an injury that reduces your ability to participate. Here at Spire Washington Hospital we have launched a sports injury clinic that provides quick access to assessment, diagnosis and treatment with a Chartered Physiotherapist, in order to aid your recovery and return to sport as soon as possible.
Following your assessment, if it is required, patients can be referred for further investigation, to our fully equipped diagnostic imaging facilities including MRI, X-ray, ultrasound and CT. Patients are also able to be referred directly onto to one of our consultant orthopaedic surgeons if a surgical opinion is necessary.

How much does the Sports Injury Clinic cost?
Your initial assessment, which will last approximately 30 minutes, costs £40. Following your assessment you may be advised to carry out a course of sessions which will be charged at £40 per half hour session. If you require diagnostic imaging following your assessment then these charges will be discussed with you during your appointment. If your physiotherapist recommends an appointment with one of consultant orthopaedic surgeons it will cost between £150 and £250.
When can I have an appointment?
The Sports Injury Clinic is open Monday-Saturday from 7.30am until 8pm (8am-1pm on Saturday's), just call us to book an appointment on 0191 418 8629
What should I wear to my assessment?
You should wear loose fitting clothing to your appointment to enable a full assessment.
Do I need a GP referral letter?
No, you are able to refer yourself to the Sports Injury Clinic. Just give us a call to arrange your appointment.
