Spire South Bank Hospital is thrilled to announce the nomination of one of our outstanding Endoscopy Sisters, Liz Bourne, for the distinguished Gary Logue Colorectal Cancer Nurse Award, presented by Bowel Cancer UK.
Speaking on the annual awards, Catherine Winsor, Director of Services and Support at Bowel Cancer UK said, “Every year, we receive nominations from health professionals, patients, and their families, recognising the dedication and excellence in colorectal cancer nursing. Now in its ninth year, the awards are a testament to Gary Logue's legacy. As a specialist nurse advisor with Bowel Cancer UK, Gary's contributions were invaluable until his passing in 2014.”
Liz Bourne's nomination originates from a heartfelt commendation by one of her current patients, noting, “Throughout my bowel cancer journey, Liz has been a pillar of support, not only for me but, significantly, for my wife. She has been instrumental in providing timely comfort, answering questions, and maintaining regular communication, ensuring our concerns were always addressed.”
