I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon in Worcester, appointed at Wye Valley NHS Trust in 2021, with over 20 years of combined orthopaedic experience. I am dual‑fellowship trained and provide specialist care for the full range of foot and ankle conditions, including arthritis, complex trauma, deformity correction, and reconstructive surgery.
Prior to my current role in Worcester, I held fixed‑term Consultant posts at Cambridge University Hospitals and Buckinghamshire NHS Trust, gaining extensive experience in tertiary and specialist orthopaedic services.
I completed advanced Foot and Ankle Fellowship Training at two internationally recognised Centres of Excellence for Orthopaedic Surgery: King’s College Hospital, London and Wrightington Hospital.
This specialist training forms the foundation of my expertise in complex foot and ankle reconstruction, arthroplasty, and trauma surgery.
My clinical practice in Worcester covers the full spectrum of foot and ankle surgery, including foot and ankle arthritis treatment, ankle arthroplasty (replacement), arthroscopy (keyhole surgery), complex trauma and fracture reconstruction, deformity correction and realignment surgery, minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) techniques, sports and dance‑related foot and ankle injuries.
I also have a specialist interest in diabetic foot conditions, including the management of diabetic foot syndromes and complex Charcot foot reconstruction, working to preserve function and prevent long‑term complications.
I have a strong commitment to clinical governance and service improvement and maintain an active role in national quality initiatives: GIRFT (Getting It Right First Time) Outpatients Transformation Lead at my NHS Trust, regular contributor to National Audits and Quality Improvement (QI) projects and participant in NHS England‑commissioned external audits.
I am also a Trust Appraiser for Consultant Revalidation and a GMC‑approved Clinical Supervisor (CS) for Higher Orthopaedic Trainees on the Oswestry/Stoke Training Programme.
I successfully graduated from the BOA‑accredited National Clinical Leaders Programme and have a strong interest in medical education and surgical training.
I am a regular faculty member on the Cambridge FRCS (Orth) Basic Science Revision Course and an acknowledged peer reviewer for The Bone & Joint Journal (BJJ) and Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics and Trauma (JCOT).
I have multiple peer‑reviewed publications as first author, indexed on PubMed, and have undertaken orthopaedic research in the UK and Australia. I regularly present my work at national and international orthopaedic meetings.
My practice combines evidence‑based surgery, advanced reconstructive techniques, and patient‑centred decision‑making, ensuring individuals in Worcester receive safe, modern, and personalised foot and ankle care.
