Mr Steven John Robinson

I am a highly experienced Consultant General Surgeon in Worcester, with a specialist interest in weight loss (bariatric) surgery and upper gastrointestinal (GI) surgery. I have developed extensive expertise in these fields throughout my medical training and professional career, including practice within the NHS, the military, and New Zealand.

I am currently a Substantive Consultant in Upper GI and General Surgery at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, providing expert care for patients across Worcester and Worcestershire.

I am committed to delivering safe, evidence‑based, and patient‑centred surgical care, with an emphasis on achieving the best possible outcomes. I regularly attend national and international educational courses and conferences to ensure my clinical skills and knowledge remain current. I have presented my work in the UK and overseas, contributed to peer‑reviewed publications, and act as a reviewer for the British Medical Journal (BMJ).

In addition to my clinical practice, I have a strong interest in surgical education and training. I am a Faculty Member of Surgical Trainers with the Royal College of Surgeons of England and am an accredited trainer in: Advanced Trauma and Life Support (ATLS), Care of the Critically Ill Patient (CCrISP) and Endoscopy.

I also hold undergraduate teaching roles as a Senior Academy Tutor and validated examiner at Birmingham University Medical School, where I lecture and teach medical students.
