I am a triple fellowship‑trained Consultant Spinal Surgeon, providing specialist care for patients across Worcester and Worcestershire. My training and clinical experience span the full breadth of adult and paediatric spinal surgery, including spinal deformity, degenerative conditions, tumours, inflammatory disease, and musculoskeletal spinal presentations.
My NHS adult spinal practice is based at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, where I treat complex degenerative and deformity conditions. I also practise at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, specialising in paediatric spinal deformity correction surgery.
I completed my higher orthopaedic training in the London Deanery, where I was awarded my Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and developed a strong interest in spinal surgery. I have since pursued extensive specialist development in leading UK and international spinal centres, and I hold both the EuroSpine Spine Diploma and the EuroSpine Advanced Spine Diploma.
I completed three complex spinal surgery fellowships at the internationally recognised centres of Southampton, Oxford, and St George’s University Hospitals. These fellowships provided comprehensive exposure to degenerative, trauma, and elective spinal surgery across the cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacral spine, working closely with leading orthopaedic spine surgeons and neurosurgical colleagues in major trauma centres.
I have undertaken prize‑winning international fellowships in Hong Kong and Istanbul, further enhancing my expertise in both adult and paediatric spinal surgery under the mentorship of internationally renowned spinal surgeons.
I am recognised as a thoughtful and analytical surgeon, continually striving to improve safety and outcomes. This philosophy has led to the development of two eponymous spinal classifications, now used internationally to enhance patient care and decision‑making.
I have authored and presented research worldwide and remain highly active in spinal research, publishing on both adult and paediatric spinal topics. My work continues to extend the boundaries of modern spinal surgery. I hold leadership and educational roles within major spinal and orthopaedic societies, contributing to the dissemination of best practice globally.
I place patients at the centre of every clinical decision, adopting a clear, consultative approach and explaining complex spinal conditions and treatment options in easy‑to‑understand language. My aim is to provide safe, evidence‑based spine care while ensuring patients from Worcester and the surrounding region feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout their treatment journey.
