I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, specialising in shoulder, elbow and knee surgery. My clinical practice includes joint reconstruction, sports injuries, and upper limb trauma, providing expert orthopaedic care for patients across Worcester and Worcestershire.
My areas of expertise include shoulder reconstruction and arthroscopy, elbow surgery, knee reconstruction and soft tissue knee surgery, sports injury surgery, arthroplasty (joint replacement surgery), upper limb trauma, and general trauma and orthopaedic surgery. I regularly treat both acute injuries and long‑standing musculoskeletal conditions, tailoring treatment to optimise recovery and long‑term function.
After completing my training on the Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Programme (BOTP), I undertook over two and a half years of advanced fellowship training in sports medicine and reconstructive orthopaedic surgery. This included a fellowship in the Arthroscopy Unit at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham, working with Mr Samir Massoud and Mr Marcus Green, gaining extensive experience in minimally invasive shoulder and knee surgery.
I then spent a year at the internationally recognised Pan Am Clinic in Winnipeg, Canada, training with Professor Peter MacDonald and Dr Jamie Dubberley, where I developed specialist expertise in sports injury surgery, upper limb reconstruction, and soft tissue knee reconstruction. My fellowship training continued at the Perth Sports Surgery Fellowship (PSSF) in Australia with Mr Peter D’Alessandro and colleagues, focussing on shoulder, upper limb, and advanced knee reconstruction.
To further enhance my trauma experience, I completed a trauma fellowship at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Perth, before returning to the UK to take up my Consultant role in Worcestershire. I have also completed a visiting fellowship at the Santy Orthopaedic Centre in Lyon, working with Dr Neyton and Dr Bertrand Sonnery‑Cottet, world leaders in sports knee and shoulder surgery.
I have a strong interest in teaching and training and am GMC‑registered as a Recognised Educational Trainer. I teach Specialist Registrars in Trauma and Orthopaedics from the Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Programme and the Coventry and Warwickshire Programme, and supervise Foundation Doctors, GP trainees and Core Surgical Trainees as both an Assigned Educational Supervisor (AES) and Clinical Supervisor (CS). I previously helped deliver the national Basic Biomechanics in Orthopaedics (BBiOrth) course for over 10 years.
I am committed to providing high‑quality, evidence‑based orthopaedic care for patients in Worcester and across Worcestershire, with a focus on accurate diagnosis, shared decision‑making, and excellent outcomes from both surgical and non‑surgical treatment.
