Mr Miguel Zilvetti

I am a Consultant General Surgeon with a specialist interest in Colorectal Surgery and Pelvic Floor Bowel Dysmotility, and a fully accredited NHS Consultant Surgeon at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

I developed the Pelvic Floor Unit in Worcester and am actively involved in the management of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, coloproctology, and a wide range of general surgical conditions, offering specialist care to patients across Worcester and Worcestershire.

My clinical interests include coloproctology, colorectal surgery, laparoscopic and minimal access surgery, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, pelvic floor surgery and bowel dysmotility, and the use of Rafaelo treatment for appropriate anorectal conditions, ensuring patients have access to modern, evidence‑based surgical options locally.

I graduated in Medicine from the Universitat Central of Barcelona. Between 2001 and 2005, I undertook a period of research at the Oxford Transplant Centre under the supervision of Professor Peter J Friend, contributing to the development of normothermic liver perfusion systems used in liver transplantation.

I completed my higher surgical training in the Oxford Deanery and subsequently undertook a specialist Pelvic Floor Fellowship at The Royal London Hospital, gaining advanced expertise in the management of complex pelvic floor and bowel dysfunction disorders.

As a Worcester‑based consultant colorectal surgeon, my approach combines advanced surgical techniques with careful assessment and clear communication.

I am committed to delivering high‑quality colorectal and pelvic floor care close to home, tailoring treatment to each patient’s individual symptoms, diagnosis, and goals.
