Mr Hollis qualified from Guy's Hospital Medical School and then returned to the anatomy department shortly after qualifying to teach anatomy to medical undergraduates. After passing the primary FRCS he undertook further surgical training in Oxford (Neurosurgery); Great Ormond Street I(Paediatric ENT); The Royal Marsden (Head and Neck Surgery/Plastics); St Mary's (General ENT). He then returned to Oxford to undertake higher surgical training in ENT-Head and Neck Surgery. He was appointed as a Consultant ENT Surgeon in Worcestershire in 2003.
His research interests are broad and encompass his general practice in ENT including nasal and sinus surgery and ear surgery. Medico-legal issues particularly those concerning consent are also an area of interest as well as the principles of laser facial surgery.
Mr Hollis has developed facial plastic surgery as a subspecialty within the ENT department in Worcestershire. This work includes the treatment of facial skin lesions concentrating mainly on skin cancer and reconstruction of surgical defects, liaising closely with the skin multi-disciplinary team.
Teaching plays a significant part in Mr Hollis’ career. He is an anatomy tutor at the Universities of Oxford and Warwick. He also teaches professions allies to medicine studying at the University of Worcester.
