Making a referral guide

We are committed to supporting healthcare professionals and aim to make the referral process quick and simple.

At Spire Regency Hospital we work hard to ensure all patients receive fast, efficient and compassionate care. Our primary care referral pathways enable patients to move from primary care to hospital treatment smoothly and swiftly.

In addition to adult services, Spire Regency offers a limited consultation and diagnostic service for children under 16 years and treatments including surgery for 16 to 17-year-olds following a risk assessment by a Registered Children's Nurse.

How to make a referral

Arranging fast private treatment

At Spire Regency hospital your patient is guaranteed fast access to modern, well-equipped facilities and diagnostic services – usually within a week of referral. If subsequent treatment is required this is available without delay and can usually be completed within a few weeks.

Choosing a consultant for your patient

You are welcome to refer to consultants by name or issue an open referral. You can rest assured that your patient will be seen by a specialist consultant throughout their pathway of care, supported by our 24-hour resident doctor and highly experienced nursing team.

Working with you

At Spire Regency, we pride ourselves on providing a premium service to you and your patients.  Our on-site team offers friendly assistance for GPs and primary care professionals to help you in looking after your patients.

We make every effort to respond to your patients’ needs from the moment they arrive at one of our hospitals. We promise to explain medical matters in straightforward language without using technical terms or jargon. And, in conjunction with their chosen consultant, we’ll provide the information and advice needed to help them prepare for their visit.

Local GP support

Spire Regency is dedicated to supporting GPs locally and we have a dedicated business development team, working closely with GPs in the area.

NHS referrals

Referrals for NHS patients can be sent through the online e-referral service (formerly choose and book) by visiting www.ebs.ncrs.nhs.uk. This is the best practice for us to receive NHS referrals, as patients will receive appointments in a timely manner and it is an efficient system.

We no longer accept fax referrals for NHS patients.
