I am a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. I was one of the first vascular surgeons to embrace minimally invasive techniques in the management of vascular disease.

I was one of the first consultants at Spire Manchester Hospital to carry out a VNUS procedure, and transformed the treatment of varicose veins from an inpatient procedure under a general anaesthetic with a painful protracted recovery to a minimally invasive treatment performed under local anaesthetic, as an outpatient procedure followed by a rapid, painless recovery.

I was also one of the first consultants to introduce branched and fenestrated stent-grafts to treat complex aneurysms of the aorta, remote endarterectomy for the minimally invasive treatment of blocked arteries in the leg to prevent amputations and outpatient treatment of varicose veins.

I provide comprehensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of vascular conditions, offering both minimally invasive and open surgical treatments tailored to each patient. My practice includes angioplasty and stent placement, as well as carotid angioplasty and surgery to help prevent stroke. I am experienced in endovascular stent-graft procedures (EVAR) for the treatment of aortic aneurysms, alongside open surgical repair where appropriate. I also manage peripheral vascular disease with a range of surgical interventions and offer advanced treatment for venous disorders, including varicose veins, using both laser techniques and traditional surgery.

I am active in vascular research and I currently sit on the editorial board of the Annals of Vascular Surgery.
