Professional profile

I am a Consultant Cardiologist with a specialist interest in heart failure and device therapy. I have a specialist interest in the management of heart failure and device therapy. This includes the implantation of complex pacing devices (cardiac resyncronisation therapy- CRT) for the management of advanced heart failure and implanting cardiac defibrillators. I hold the British Heart Rhythm Society certificate for device management. I also perform diagnostic coronary angiography for the management of coronary artery disease (angina).

I have implanted >250 complex pacing devices including cardiac resynchronisation devices and implantable cardiac defibrillators, >500 pacemakers and >1,000 diagnostic coronary angiograms.

I have worked as a consultant at Macclesfield District Hospital for two years. I completed my higher specialist training in the North West Deanery with sub-specialist training in heart failure including cardiac transplantation. I have completed a higher research degree (MD) studying the best method of pacing the heart after surgery including publications in major European clinical journals.
