Consultant Cardiologist

I have been a Consultant Cardiologist since 2001 and I now lead the cardiology service in East Cheshire.
I provide general diagnostic and therapeutic cardiology and management of cardiovascular risk factors. My role encompasses the entirety of general cardiology but with special expertise in percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty/stent), echocardiography and adult congenital heart disease. I undertake approximately 150 percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty/stent) procedures per annum.
I have vast expertise in treating patients with arrythmia, atrial fibrillation and hypertension.
I qualified from Cambridge University and trained in cardiology in a variety of major cardiac centres in London, including the Royal Brompton Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital, St Mary's Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital. I obtained a PhD in cardiac electrophysiology from Imperial College.
I am involved in training junior doctors in the North West of England through my role in Health Education England (NW). I contribute to the education of consultants throughout England and Wales through my role as an educational facilitator with the Royal College of Physicians.
