I provide clinic consultations and expert specialist advice based on clinical features combined with laboratory and radiological investigations. Please note, that I do not operate.

I offer expertise in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of endocrine and metabolic conditions, including the assessment and treatment of adrenal gland disorders, bone metabolic diseases such as osteoporosis, and calcium and bone metabolism issues. I provide care for essential and secondary hypertension, cardiovascular risk management, and lipid disorders including cholesterol and triglyceride abnormalities. With extensive experience in diabetes mellitus, I also address its associated conditions and complications.
Additional areas of focus include dynamic testing of endocrine gland function, electrolyte disorders, and the management of complex hormonal and metabolic conditions. I am adept in treating ovarian disorders such as polycystic ovarian syndrome and menopause, as well as parathyroid dysfunction, pituitary disorders including diabetes insipidus, and polyglandular autoimmune syndromes. Lastly, I can help with the management of reactive hypoglycaemia, testicular abnormalities, and personalised weight management strategies.

I qualified in 1992 and completed my MD degree in 1996. My basic medical training was in the North-West of England and the subsequent higher training in diabetes and endocrinology was in Wales and the North-West of England.

During my higher training, I completed my PhD from Manchester University following a very prestigious grant from the British Heart Foundation. After completing my training in 2009, I took up a consultant post in diabetes and endocrinology at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Foundation Trust and then at the Wirral University Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust. Subsequently I moved to my present job at Bolton Foundation NHS Trust in 2015, where I am the current Clinical Lead for Diabetes and Endocrinology.

In 2020, I was selected for the coveted post of Clinical Champion of Diabetes UK. I also serve as a member of the diabetes board of the Greater Manchester and Eastern Cheshire Strategic Clinical Network.
