According to Anxiety UK, "One in six people will experience a common mental health issue every year."
Our highly experienced senior accredited counsellor and psychotherapist, Barbara Hart, offers both short and long term therapy to patients for a broad range of mental health conditions including; anxiety, depression, stress and eating disorders.
Stress and anxiety
Trouble concentrating, disrupted sleep, feeling shaky, palpitations and sweating, excessive worrying thoughts and/or tension in your body?
Anxiety and excessive stress can affect all areas of our lives, including our relationships, work performance, desire to socialise, leading to feeling isolated with nowhere to turn. Therapy can help you explore and resolve anxious feelings, learn to develop coping strategies and relaxation techniques and ultimately take back control of your life.
Depression and low mood
Depression and low mood can leave us feeling isolated, with little or no energy or motivation with difficulty finding any joy in everyday life.
Therapy can help you to explore and work through these difficult thoughts and emotions, and find the resources to live each day. Barbara utilises evidence-based approaches such as mindfulness, CBT and self compassion.
Concerns with weight or eating habits
Are you concerned about your weight or eating habits? Sometimes we can feel out of control with our eating, whether it’s over-eating, comfort eating, binge-eating or trying to restrict what we eat. It can be difficult to talk about these concerns although these difficulties are very common with approximately one and a quarter million affected in the UK.
Barbara draws on evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help you develop a healthier relationship with food. Utilising mindfulness-based eating awareness, CBT and self-compassion approaches, learn how to manage food cravings, identify triggers to eating, understand your psychological and emotional links to food and how to sustain a healthy lifestyle, feeling that you never need to be on a diet ever again.
