Orthopaedic Surgeon
MB BS, FRCS (London)
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Hugh Clarke at Spire include:
I use a wide range of implants for hip and knee replacement surgery. My philosophy has always been to use well tried and tested implants with a good research base. I have a particular interest in ceramic hip replacement.
I have been one of the first users of the new MRI guided Signature system to optimise alignment and function in knee replacement for the last 5-10 years, particularly for young and active patients.
I have been a consultant in trauma and orthopaedics in the East Hampshire and West Sussex region since 1994. I graduated from the Middlesex Hospital in London and did my specialist higher surgical training in orthopaedics at the Wessex Orthopaedic Hospital and Southampton University Hospitals.
I undertook a Research and Clinical Fellowship in lower limb joint reconstruction at John Hopkins University in Baltimore in 1988.
