I am a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist with over 15 years of experience in general and interventional cardiology, with a particular focus on arrhythmia management. I am an EHRA-accredited Electrophysiologist (Level 2) and bring both academic and clinical expertise in the treatment of atrial fibrillation and other rhythm disorders. I am passionate about patient-centred care and continuously aim to combine evidence-based practice with compassionate treatment.
I specialise in management of heart rhythm disorders, I perform catheter ablations for arrhythmias including supraventricular tachycardia, atrial tachycardia, atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, ventricular ectopy and ventricular tachycardia. I implant Implantable Loop Recorders (ILRs) and single- and dual-chamber pacemakers. I carry out cardioversion procedures.
To date, I have performed more than 1200 catheter ablations, including over 500 complex ablations such as atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia ablations. I have conducted more than 1500 electrophysiological studies and more than 200 device procedures.
I work as a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, actively involved in clinical service development.
In addition to my clinical work, I am actively involved in teaching and education. I am supervisor of the University of Southampton Medical students during their rotation in our Cardiology Department. I am Clinical and Education Supervisor for our resident doctors. I am involved in simulation-based education for for our Cardiology staff.
I have contributed to over 30 peer-reviewed publications in cardiac electrophysiology.
