"Working at the Spire provides time to spend with patients to ensure the treatment delivered is first class."
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon with a busy NHS practice at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals.
I graduated with an MbChB from the University of Sheffield in 2007 having previously completed a Bachelor of Medical Science degree at the University of Birmingham in 2002.
I completed my Basic Surgical Training in Leeds and Bradford, passing with an MRCS(Eng) in 2006, before entering Higher Surgical Training within the Yorkshire region and becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 2017. I then completed a 12 month advanced sub-specialty fellowship in foot and ankle surgery.
I offer a comprehensive service that includes non-operative or conservative management strategies. Particular attention is focused on good communication, high- quality, personalised care and advice and facilitating an informed choice.
I principally manage foot and ankle conditions, including complex primary and revision surgery. I also provide a full acute general trauma service for fracture fixation.
My sub-specialty interests encompass arthroplasty (joint replacement) and arthroscopic (key hole) surgery of the foot and ankle, deformity correction and arthrodesis of the forefoot, mid-foot, hind-foot & ankle and the management of sports injuries including soft tissue reconstruction and rehabilitation.
As well as my clinical work, I am a keen educator and regularly teach the local Mersey trainees. I am also faculty on the national BOFAS principles course.
