I am a Consultant Gynaecologist with extensive experience in the investigation and treatment of a wide range of gynaecological conditions. I have a particular interest in the modern management of heavy, irregular and painful periods, menopause care, fibroids and minimally invasive outpatient procedures. My practice includes contraception services, gynaecological ultrasound, hysteroscopy, colposcopy and treatment for abnormal cervical smears, including loop excision of the cervix.
I trained in obstetrics and gynaecology primarily in North and East London, with additional experience gained in New Zealand, and have been a consultant since 2006. I graduated from the Medical College of St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, where I was awarded the Matthews Duncan Prize in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I am trained in gynaecological ultrasound, which allows me to offer a comprehensive “one‑stop” consultation, including discussion, examination, ultrasound assessment and treatment planning during the same visit.
Where surgical treatment is required, I am skilled in the full range of general gynaecological procedures, including keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery. I am also keen to promote newer treatment options such as endometrial ablation for heavy periods, which can be an effective alternative to hysterectomy and, in some cases, performed under local anaesthetic.
Spire Murrayfield Hospital has a fully equipped colposcopy suite, enabling on‑site assessment and treatment for women with abnormal smears. I am a Member of the Medical Advisory Committee at Spire Murrayfield Hospital and a committee member of the British Society of Gynaecological Imaging.
