I am a consultant rheumatologist seeing patients at Spire with a wide range of joint, bone and connective tissue conditions. My focus is on helping people understand the cause of their symptoms and find effective treatments that reduce pain, improve mobility and support long‑term joint health.
I have a particular interest in osteoporosis and am experienced in the assessment and treatment of bone health, helping patients reduce fracture risk and maintain independence as they age. I also regularly support patients with osteoarthritis, inflammatory joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, crystal arthritis including gout, soft tissue conditions such as tendonitis, and both inflammatory and non‑inflammatory back pain.
Alongside my clinical work, I have extensive experience using injectable treatments for joint conditions, including intra‑articular therapies, which can play an important role in pain relief and improving function. My background in pharmacology and clinical research has given me a strong understanding of the medicines used to treat inflammatory joint disease, allowing me to tailor treatment plans carefully to each individual.
In addition to my private practice, I have held leadership and academic roles, including chairing a regional osteoporosis charity branch and teaching at university level. I have also been closely involved in clinical trials within rheumatology, helping to advance treatments now used routinely in practice.
Outside of work, I enjoy walking, collecting and reading DC comics.
