I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist with over 20 years’ experience, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the digestive system, liver and pancreas.
I support patients with a wide range of symptoms, including abdominal pain, reflux, bloating, altered bowel habits and rectal bleeding, as well as conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and gastrointestinal cancers. I also have a particular interest in liver disease, including fatty liver disease, and pancreatic disorders.
A key part of my practice is advanced endoscopy. I regularly perform procedures such as gastroscopy and colonoscopy, as well as ERCP to treat bile duct stones and carry out biliary decompression. I also offer FibroScan, a non-invasive test to assess liver health without the need for a biopsy.
Alongside my clinical work, I have held a number of leadership roles within Wirral gastroenterology services, including leading cancer pathways for liver, pancreas and bile duct conditions. I am also actively involved in education, teaching medical students from the University of Liverpool and supporting the training of future specialists.
My approach is centred on providing clear, evidence-based advice in a calm and approachable way, ensuring each patient feels fully informed and supported throughout their care.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, staying active, playing tennis and cooking — particularly experimenting with different cuisines.
