Mr Simon Neequaye
Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon
FRCS, MSc, MBBS, BSc
"I am proud to be part of the team at Spire. Together, we provide the best possible care to all of our patients."
I am an established Consultant Surgeon with a busy NHS practice encompassing all aspects of Vascular surgery with a specific focus on keyhole surgery for venous and arterial disease. My practice includes patients with leg problems ranging from varicose veins that are unsightly or causing skin complications to blocked arteries causing pain in the muscles on walking (intermittent claudication). I am a specialist in treatment of varicose veins, blocked leg arteries and aneurysms.
As a specialist in both open and keyhole (endovascular) surgery I am able to offer the best of both worlds for patients with severe circulatory symptoms in the legs. I am an experienced aortic surgeon able to offer an extensive range of procedures for aneurysms of the lower limbs and aorta (AAA). As a result of a broad surgical training background and network, I am able to offer all aspects of management for conditions affecting the arteries and veins either personally or through a further referral. I am happy to offer general advice and or second opinions to patients who are struggling to understand their vascular diagnosis.
I perform a significant number of vascular surgery procedures a year ranging from simple day case procedures to complex procedures involving several consultants specialists. My particular passion is the combination of the latest technology with sound traditional surgical techniques.
I am the Clinical Audit Lead for the Liverpool Vascular and Endovascular Service.
My General Vascular Surgery training was in London, Oxford and Melbourne (Australia). My advanced training was in Canada as the Advanced Aortic and Peripheral Endovascular Surgery Fellow at McGill University, Montreal. This training brought me to Liverpool as part of a large multidisciplinary group offering world class treatment to patients with Vascular disease. Together, we are the premier vascular unit in the United Kingdom for the management of Aortic disease in particular.
