I am a distinguished consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in upper limb (arm) surgery. With a wealth of experience in trauma, joint replacement, sports injuries, and arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery, I am highly skilled in treating a diverse range of upper limb conditions.

After graduating from the prestigious University of Manchester in 2000, I underwent extensive postgraduate training in Manchester and Stoke. I further honed my skills by working in Sydney, Australia, before completing my training in the North West of England. I earned my Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2010 and joined the Specialist Register in 2014, solidifying my expertise in the field.

My dedication to this profession is evident through the multiple specialist fellowships I have been awarded. I trained at renowned units such as Wrightington, Liverpool Upper Limb, and Trauma at the Royal Liverpool Hospital, where I gained invaluable experience in complex upper limb conditions and various treatment options utilising both arthroscopic and open techniques. To enhance my skills, I have also visited centres in Europe and North America. Notably, I was awarded the British Elbow and Shoulder Society Mayo Elbow Fellowship.

Apart from being an exceptional surgeon, I am a passionate educator. I am currently the Education Director for Health Education England North West (Mersey) Orthopaedic Trainees. I actively participate in international and national courses, teaching fellow professionals and sharing my knowledge. I play a key role in organising courses for the Liverpool Upper Limb Unit and formerly led the teaching for the Shoulder & Elbow module for orthopaedic trainees in the Mersey region. Additionally, I had been an instructor for the Advanced Trauma Life Support course for over 10 years, advancing to training the trainers for the same course. As an educational and clinical supervisor for junior doctors, I am committed to shaping the future of healthcare.

My research interests have yielded noteworthy contributions, which I have presented both nationally and internationally. Furthermore, I serve as a trustee of The Frostick Foundation, a charity dedicated to improving patient care in Liverpool.

In addition to my clinical practice, I maintain a medicolegal practice, writing numerous reports annually and serving as a subeditor for the OPiL Bond Solon Training course.

My commitment to giving back extends beyond my homeland, as I volunteered for a year as a consultant in Malawi. My experiences there have garnered national and international recognition, and I have been invited to present my insights on multiple occasions. I remain actively invested in supporting orthopaedics in developing countries and has contributed chapters to textbooks dedicated to treating orthopaedic injuries in austere environments. Notably, I am a founding member of the Implants for Malawi fundraising group and the registered charity North West Orthopaedic Trauma Alliance for Africa.

With such a diverse range of experiences, I am well-equipped to provide patient-centred care for a wide variety of upper limb conditions. My affiliation with a centre renowned for trauma and tertiary elective surgery further strengthens my ability to perform surgeries for upper limb trauma and sports injuries, ensuring exceptional outcomes for my patients.
