This includes surgery on bunions (minimally invasive surgery), flat feet, big toe arthritis, ankle replacements, ankle ligament surgery and arthritis. They have won 14 national and international research prizes. I received the Roger Mann award in 2008 and 2022; one of a handful of surgeons in the world to receive the award twice. I am regularly invited to lecture across Europe and USA to learned societies.

I previously served on the awards committee of AOFAS, the Scientific Committee of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, and as the Chair of the Outcomes committee for BOFAS, setting up a national foot and ankle surgery registry.
