Professional profile

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at University Hospital Aintree as well as at Spire Liverpool Hospital. I qualified from University of Leeds in 1996 and completed my specialist Orthopaedic training in the Mersey region. I completed my training with a 6-month fellowship in Foot and Ankle surgery under one of the world’s most eminent Foot and Ankle surgeons, Dr Mark Myerson, in Baltimore USA.

Having served on the Scientific Committee of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, I am now the Chair of the Outcomes committee. I am an invited member of the international Ankle Instability consensus group.

I have published over 40 original research articles and 10 book chapters. I present research and teach regularly both nationally and internationally, winning several prizes for my research. I co-convene a surgery course for the education of other orthopaedic surgeons.

Mr Molloy treats all disorders of the foot and ankle including bunions (minimally invasive surgery), flat feet, big toe arthritis, ankle replacements, ankle ligament surgery and arthritis. He has a specialist interest in foot and ankle sporting injuries (treating both professional and recreational sportspeople) offering both open and arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery.
