Specialises in
I am a Consultant Dermatologist with a specialist interest in the management of alopecia and scalp disorders. I have completed an international fellowship in hair and scalp disorders under Professor Rodney Sinclair in Australia and published extensively in this area. I manage the specialist hair clinic at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust and I am currently the Honorary Secretary of the British Hair and Nail Society.
I obtained my MBChB from the University of Manchester in 2007 and undertook my junior doctor training in the West Midlands before entering the specialist dermatology programme in Liverpool. I qualified as a Consultant Dermatologist in 2017.
I hold a substantive consultant NHS post at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust, where I see all aspects of general dermatology including medical dermatology (acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, hyperhidrosis), skin cancers, mole checks, and perform regular dermatological surgery. In addition to running the specialist hair clinic, I also manage patients in a specialist biologics clinic for patients with severe psoriasis.
I am passionate about dermatology, teaching and research. I am the Undergraduate Lead at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust, Honorary Clinical Lecturer at The University of Manchester and serve on the steering committee for the global COVID-19 alopecia registry – SECURE alopecia.
