I worked as a Consultant in Urology at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust for over 20 years. I specialise in managing low testosterone in men and all treatments for erectile dysfunction.
Since 2017, I have been Professor of Sexual Medicine at Aston University. I have previously served as Chairman of the British Society for Sexual Medicine from 2005–2007 and have been on the Scientific Committee of the European Society for Sexual Medicine from 2003–2009, Executive Committee of ESSM from 2015-2017 and the International Society for Sexual Medicine Educational Committee 2009-2012, and ISSM general committee from 2020.
I have published over 150 papers on sexual medicine and Men's health and am currently the lead author of the 2023 UK guidelines on both testosterone and sexual dysfunction in men.
My managerial posts include being the current Chair of ISSM Ethics Committee, Executive Committee Member of Androgen Society, Lead Author of BSSM guidelines of Testosterone Deficiency and Erectile Dysfunction, Medical Adviser to the European Golf Tour and Senior Medical Adviser to Teds Health and Hims and Hers.
