Professional profile

I graduated in Medicine from Mumbai University in 1986. I worked at King Edward VII Memorial hospital for 13 years. I spent three years working in the Orthopaedic department as a University lecturer. After moving to the UK in 1995, I joined Nottingham Higher Surgical Training Programme. I later went to Cambridge Orthopaedic training programme to complete the last two years of his training. During my training I was awarded the following fellowships: Knee Fellowship at Nottingham and Derby, Shoulder Fellowship - Derby, Pulvertaft Hand Fellowship. During my knee fellowship, I was trained for primary and revision knee replacemen, ACL/PCL ligament reconstruction, meniscus repair and knee arthroscopies. I was also trained at Nottingham shoulder and elbow unit and in the last year worked at Norwich upper limb and trauma unit. My NHS practice includes dealing with sports injuries, knee and shoulder injuries, I also provides a specialist hand service including treatment of scaphoid fractures, thumb arthritis, carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome and dupuytren's contracture etc.
